UV radiation is responsible for 80% of skin aging. Despite the use of sun filters, toxins and oxidizing molecules are generated by UV radiation in the skin. This affects the most sensitive cells, such as the rare and essential epidermal stem cells. Therefore, protecting them against UV stress is of great importance. To do so, VINÉSIME has selected the rare Gamay grape variety.
This rare grape variety has a high level of antioxidants (synergy of anthocyanins and tannins).
The grape variety, Gamay Teinturier Fréaux, originating from the Burgundy region in France, is characterized by its red flesh and juice due to its very high anthocyanin content. Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants and free radical scavengers. They act as a "sunscreen" by absorbing UV radiation.
Their effectiveness is further enhanced by the interaction with other phytochemical substances present in the grape. The high level of tannins also gives an undesirable taste to wines. In cosmetics, tannins are powerful antioxidants.
